In 2017 new PAL activities were organized to test the implementations and to collect users’ feedbacks in order to be able to finalise the project in the upcoming year.
30 children between 8 and 12 years old, their parents and healthcare professionals participated to a new experimental campaign held in one hospital in Italy and in two hospitals in the Netherland from May to September 2017 .
- Step 1: At the beginning the families met the PAL researchers at the hospitals where children set their learning goals with the healthcare professionals and played with the robot.
- Step 2: Children had the possibility to use the MyPAL app at home for three months. During this period families were invited to come back to the hospitals two times to share their impressions, and provide feedbacks on their experience with PAL .
- Step 3: A second group of activities has been done during the Summer and Autumn Camps organized by the diabetes associations partners of the PAL consortium for children between 8 and 14 years.
All the results obtained in in these activities are currently under analysis and will ground the basis for the next year of work, when the last version of the PAL system is going to be released and ready to be used for its final evaluation.
